selected views from epac island iv

as i dozed between bouts of insomnia....

The air was heavy, the sky was overcast and the light of the afternoon was slipping into evening and street lights flickered into life in the distant town.
I was walking along a narrow country lane and, as i feared, i happened to walk past his house. I was returning from looking at a house just down the road and over a bridge that i was interested in, it was surrounded by huge, incredibly tall trees, some of the roots had grown over the derelict house- not sure what that means but it felt very significant. i hoped he wouldn't be there, but sure enough he was, sitting with some friends in his front garden.
He was leaning back in a garden chair, characteristically obnoxious, his legs resting on the low stone wall... i was surprised to see his right leg a stump, apparently amputated below the knee. As i approached i heard him say to his friends;
".....i'll make sure that nobody is ever interested in anything he does again....". He then fell silent, but i did hear a snigger.
With my head down, i purposefully avoided making eye contact, i couldn't be sure he was talking about me, but by the sneering tone in his voice i had to assume he was.
I walked on. Before i awoke i turned left onto the Stray, and followed the path which was going in roughly the right direction, i lost my way and bumped into a Danish Man with a huge Truck and trailer who was selling Power Showers to upwardly mobile wives in large Georgian Houses. The Danish Man didn't notice me and neither did the upwardly mobile wives.

That's when i woke up.

Wow. I rarely remember my dreams. The ones I do remember are just pointless and stupid.

For example, I once dreamt I stole Anne Robinson's plums.

I kid you not. I told you they were pointless and stupid.
