In fact its really quite depressing. Depressing in the same way as realising you fancy someone who just started at work, thinking about them all night, conjuring up the balls to ask them out for a drink, only to see their third finger on heir left hand sparkle with an engagement ring the following morning. Bugger.
Actually the job list is nothing like that at all. Its just they both happened today and I wanted to put them in the same box. When I remove any and all 'personal art projects' from the job list I find myself wondering what have I been doing with my time all these years?
Hmm. Anyhoo.
I'm gonna do a quick rundown of various films i've watched over the last few days, with scores.
Click. Adam Sandler with a remote control that pauses rewinds and fast forwards his life. Mostly rubbish but Christopher Walken is in it too so that gives it a whole extra point. 3/5 maybe. It has a couple of LOL moments.
Talladega Nights. Will Ferrell. Compared to Anchor Man (one of the funniest film I have ever seen) this is trite/rubbish. Sacha baron cohen is in it too and even he struggles with the obvious and methodical script. Should've been much much funnier than it was. 1/5
Stranger Than Fiction. Will ferrell (again, i'm having a season of will ferrell films), emma thompson and dustin Hoffman.
I don't know what to say other than crikey. Brilliant film. Beautifully shot, spotlessly written and totally life affirming. There's no car chases or cowboys and the laughs aren't out loud necessarily but absolutely one of my favourite films. 5/5.
Dodge Ball. Ben stiller and that other fella whose name is Vince something-or-other. Silly sports underdog movie that provides the laughs with standard, tickd boxes format. LOL funny in the right places. 3/5
Die Hard 4.0. Bruce Willis saves america from a baddie who is far too stupid to be clever enough to pull the stunt he's pulled. Better than die hard3 (as far as I can remember) but seems to be too self aware to match up to the original or even the second installment. Impressive stunts and explosions make it eye candy for a rowdy boys night in with beer. Casino Royale is much better. Nice to see kevin smith playing a part though... 3/5
Its film night at dragondrop centraal tonight. I believe we'll be watching the oscar winning "there will be blood". I'm sure it will be reviewed on www.dragondrop.org soon.
That is all for now...
Papa oscar oscar tango x2

Ah, now we can't possibly of watched that film (good though it sounds) at DragonDrop centraal, as it's not out on DVD yet! unless you were talking conceptually, of DDC as a collective, rather than place.
ah now, yes. yes that's right i think maybe i put 'at' rather than 'with' and/or 'meeting at'. obviously the movie was watched at a cinema where it is still playing, as it isn't available on dvd yet. that is/must be what happened. yes
